Our decisions determine our lives
The decision we make is affecting our lives from one area to another. Our opening verse gives us two different sides of areas you can choose, between life and death, curse and blessings. Apparently, no human being who has common sense can decide to choose death or curse if it could appear in a shape which shows that it is death or curse. People are scared to die and nobody wants to receive a curse. But still many are living under the curse and they are dead because of the decisions and choices they made in life. We see that we are told to choose life so that we may live, with our children. this means that when you make decisions and choices in life, don't be selfish by only thinking about yourself. some decisions you make in life can affect the coming generation. When you choose to be a prostitute, be sure that it will letter affect your children when they are called children of a prostitute. Many people are living under the curse just because somebody in a family made a wrong decision. The Bible says
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”Proverbs 16:25 NIV
Nobody could choose death if death could appear like death, but the Bible says there are ways that appear to be right, which means that this is something which can be attractive to your eyes but it leads you to death. Not all beautiful women and men are beautiful in their hearts, not all places are good for you to go to, no matter how nice they are. Many people have destroyed their great future because of one bad choice and decision they made. Have you ever thought about people who can’t stop smoking cigarettes, while the packet of cigarettes is written smoking cigarettes kills, what about those who consume alcohol and drugs while they know that in the end, they might be in danger with their health? Haven’t you seen people struggling with addictions, and they try by any means to stop but they can’t? The reason is that there was a day they took a step and started those new habits in their life thinking they will find happiness, but they realize later that it was a bad decision. We see suicide rates rising, divorces, depression and broken families and marriages are seen in most of our societies. Because people are just living this life for themselves(self-centred life) without knowing that there are people behind them who are coming. You need to live a life knowing that your choices and decision can bring life or death to the next generation. The question to ask ourselves is that what should we do now? Are we going to let people continue perishing because of those decisions they made? The answer is no because there is an answer to every situation a human being can have, and that’s Jesus Christ.
Why is Jesus the answer?
In Genesis 1 we see God creating everything, including humankind. But when he was creating, he spoke to the source to produce a product. For example
“Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.” Genesis 1:11 NIV
We see that when he wanted to create vegetation, plants and trees, he spoke to the land to produce them which tells us that if you separate vegetation, tree or a plant from the land, you don’t need any energy for it to die it’s automatically going to die.
But when God was creating you, he spoke to another source which we find in Genesis 1:26
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”“
Here we see that he spoke to himself, that let’s create mankind from ourselves, which tells us a human being was produced out of God himself. This tells us that when you try to disconnect yourself from your source, you don’t need anything else to be done so that you can die. The same how the plants die when you remove them from the land, it’s the same thing that happens when you disconnect yourself from God your source. You might ask yourself why many people don’t believe in God but they are not dead! What you need to understand is that God is a spirit, and the Image and the likeness of God in a human being is in the spiritual relationship physical. That’s why Jesus explained this in the book of John 4:24 that
“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.””
Created from God - coming back to God
This means that you are a spiritual being, wearing a body which is the physical part of you. Whether you believe it or not but life is hundred per cent spiritual. Getting back to our point that when you separate yourself from God this will cause spiritual death at the same time in you. What dies in you is the ability to live on earth like God, which means a life of dominion, love, humility, faith etc. God created you to live a life of dominion on earth as he has it in heaven because when you see that people who are very smart can be controlled by pornography and things related to this. This is not because they want to remain like that, but it’s because they have lost the ability to control everything under the earth. You see a very talented musician dying because of drugs, a very educated doctor dying because of alcohol. This means that a human being without God's power can’t be effective in all areas of life. You can be rich but don’t have joy, you can be educated but are still struggling with addictions and depression. God knew that you can’t be alone that’s why he sent Jesus to bring you back to your source, but many refuse him because they don’t know that he is the saviour who came to carry all your sins and give you a new life found in him. It’s written that
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
Because of God's love, he gave Jesus to you and me, that when you believe in him you are not going to be spiritually awakened and receive the new life of God in you while you are still on earth. And this is the secrete of the power we have as Christians when it comes to healing the sick, casting out devils or raising the dead in the name of Jesus. This can only happen when you have received Jesus Christ in you, and he will start doing miraculous things through you.
The true way of salvation is Jesus Christ.
The decision about God determines our life
It all begins with a choice and decision you make today because you can’t manage on your own. You need a saviour, Jesus Christ, to save you and bring you back to the life of authority, dominion and true joy found in him. It’s very good to be successful in life, but any success anywhere from God cannot be enjoyed no matter how you will try there will be one area or another you will feel empty. If you think you can find God anywhere still that’s not true because Jesus is the only way to reach God the father.
Just make a decision today to receive Christ in your life, I guarantee you that he will never fail you. Even me I made the right decision several years ago, I left everything I thought was good for me and I found something real in Jesus. It’s impossible to explain to you but David said in the book of psalms 34:8
“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
It's impossible to understand people who are praying until you try it
You need to have a personal experience with God, these words might not be enough to explain to you but what I can tell you confidently is that God is real. Just take your time alone in a quiet place and speak to him, tell him that Lord Jesus review yourself to me. The same he appeared to me he will also do it to you.
It’s a voice of God calling you back to your source, you don’t need to continue struggling while the saviour Jesus Christ is available for you. It doesn’t matter how much your sins are, he will forgive you and give you new life. Just begin with making a decision today which will also help the coming generation to live a joyful life. Remember that this life is a gift from God live wisely, by accepting Jesus Jesus today, in your life. That will be a perfect decision you will never regret in this life and the life after.
